One step #2
The Bosporus Bridge is one of the largest suspension bridges in the world. It stretches out over the Bosporus strait, which runs through the middle of Istanbul. The bridge is 1510 long and connects two different cultures: Europe and Asia. In the middle of the bridge you can take a step from one continent to the other and herewith from one culture to the other. For ‘One step number two’ I requested to cut out a piece of the size of an average step exactly in the middle of the bridge. Leaving a hole behind, the piece of the bridge was exhibited in a show in Istanbul as a left over from the action. During the exhibition there where postcards available with a picture of the bridge on the front and an explanation of the project on the back.
